Biography
He is a retired Professor of Higher Education and an Associate Research Director at CRASC (Oran). He has authored and coordinated numerous publications and notably served as the French Editor of the Africa Review of Books and as a member of the Executive Committee of CODESRIA (Dakar). He is currently dedicated to directing the development of a second edition of the 'Dictionary of Algeria's Past, from Origins to 1962'. In 2023, he was awarded the Ibn Khaldun Prize for the Mediterranean.

Biography
Is a research director in social sciences, specializing in political philosophy. His work focuses on the study of elites, social transformations, and colonial history in Algeria. Throughout a distinguished academic career, he has led prominent institutional research projects, most notably the BASAC project (2023-2026) on social work in Oran, alongside studies on elites and women's political representation. His research combines the theoretical depth of philosophy with the sociological method to analyze and approach the mechanisms of cultural and political change in Algerian society.
