Summary

Poetry represents a distinct cultural expression through different socio-cultural forms and practices and in various contexts, which has allowed the formation of a very diverse poetic map that we treat, here, under the title of (Atlas of Algerian poetry) . However, the studies published so far, for the most part, studied just poetic texts isolated from local socio-cultural contexts. Furthermore, encyclopedias are limited to present poets and poetic texts without paying attention to the cultural context to which the life and poetic production of the poet is linked.
What we propose here is a study of poetic practices and their distribution in different cultural territories, so that the poet is linked to the cultural environment and the text to the context of poetic practices. This is the very essence of the addition proposed by the Atlas of Algerian poetry. Poetry has acquired a diverse presence on the cultural scene through the dominant practices and forms between classical poetry (الفصيح), popular (الملحون) and poetic genres associated with other arts such as singing, playing, dance and various social practices.
This research aims to deepen knowledge about poetry through poetic practices and across various cultural trritories by posing a three-dimensional problem:
What are the dominant poetic forms? What is its relationship with the cultural and artistic practices of the different cultural territories? Who are the current poets of Algeria?
