abstract
The work Algerian Toponyms and Anthroponyms: General Bibliographic Directory, compiled by Farid Benramdane and Brahim Atoui, constitutes a scientific and documentary reference point in the field of onomastic studies in Algeria. Its purpose is to identify, classify, and organize scholarly production devoted to place names (toponymy) and personal names (anthroponymy), thereby providing researchers with a comprehensive overview of the work carried out in this domain of knowledge.
This register is part of broader efforts to establish a reference base for the study of naming as a linguistic, cultural, and social phenomenon, reflecting historical transformations as well as the construction of individual and collective identities.
