abstract

The Islamic conquest of the Maghreb inaugurated a new era in which the region underwent a profound transformation, freeing itself from its former triple domination. This turning point enabled the Maghreb to assume a central role in the broader history of the Islamic world. Maghrebis forces not only spearheaded the conquest of their own region but also played a decisive role in the expansion into the Iberian Peninsula and other parts of Europe. Beyond military achievements, the Maghreb contributed significantly to the political and civilizational developments of the Islamic world, from the initial conquest through the decline of Muslim rule in al Andalus and the onset of Spanish and Portuguese incursions along the North African coasts
