abstract
This project seeks to explore Algerian theatrical texts inspired by popular rituals and festive practices, ranging from everyday life ceremonies to agricultural, matrimonial, birth, and funerary rites. It examines the extent to which Algerian playwrights understand, reinterpret, and creatively employ these traditions in their artistic productions, thereby reshaping them aesthetically and bringing them closer to the Algerian audience. The research also aims to collect and document relevant theatrical texts, make them available to scholars and students, and analyze them within the framework of ritual and festive practices, highlighting the role of theatre in rearticulating heritage and identity..........
