Since 2004, the educational effectiveness of Algerian universities has been the foundation of reform strategies, leading to the adoption of the LMD system (Licence–Master–Doctorate) inspired by international models. This system replaced the classical model, aiming to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and alignment with global standards. While its objectives emphasize quality, excellence, and innovation, research indicates that true effectiveness depends on the university’s readiness—through institutional development, faculty training, and improved student admission practices—to fully embrace and implement reform
