The Words of Urban Phenomenon : Uses and Paradoxes

This volume takes the form of a thematic classification of author citations, centred on the paradox as an object of reflection related to the urban phenomenon. Beyond its apparent inherent constraints, the challenge lies in repositioning the paradox as a tool, an asset, or even a resource. The terminology comprising this lexical register pertains to contemporary practices, usages, and discourses associated with environmental issues, climate, ecological transition, and sustainable development, among others. The aim is to shed light on the links between scientific knowledge and the planning of the urban environment through a transdisciplinary lens (incorporating architecture, urbanism, psychology, sociology, economics, and ecology). In this regard, the work adopts a didactic and suggestive approach, aiming to present perspectives that may inspire new research trajectories. To foster dialogue through the confrontation of ideas and respective interests, this is the interactive credo of the paradox as a subject of study.
